| | Zhenguo Temple [edit this] | | Zhenguo Temple lies in Haodong village, twelve kilometers northeast of Pingyao. It was originally named Jingcheng Temple, and then in 1540 renamed Zhenguo Temple, so it has a long history.
Zhenguo Temple is famous for its buildings built in the Five Dynasties Period, especially the Hall of Buddhas. Along the central axis are the Hall of the Heavenly King, the Hall of 10,000 Buddhas and the Hall of Three Buddhas.
In January 13, 1988, Zhenguo Temple was declared a key cultural relic under national protection. In December 3, 1997, Zhenguo Temple and Shuanglin Temple became part of the World Heritage Site of Pingyao Ancient City.

| The Museum of Old Houses [edit this] | | The Museum of Old Houses, originally Weitaihou Bank, is situated at No.18, West Avenue.
The Museum is five rooms wide and consists of several courtyards. The northern courtyard, a typical business courtyard, faces north with its gate on the street. The southern part faces south with a gate opening to the lane. It consists of a main courtyard with two side courtyards and a back courtyard and is a standard residential compound. The northern and southern compounds are linked up by a narrow passageway. The walls are high and the courtyards are spacious. This courtyard is well known for its shape. | Edit by: Dorothy | |
| Yingge Xiang [edit this] | | Yingge Xiang (Parrot Lane) is at the north end of South Avenue. On both sides are houses of merchants in the past. It is said that in the old days there was a stone near a toilet where men peed. The stone was magic and one day an immortal parrot flew of the stone and protected the people. | The Former Residence of Lei Lutai [edit this] | | The Former Residence of Lei Lutai lies in No.11, Shuyuan Street and was built during the end of 18th century and the beginning of 19th century.
Lei Lutai (1770-1849) was a business tycoon in Qing Dynasty because he was one of the founders of China's first draft bank and was a major figure in China's financial history.
The house faces south and consists of four courtyards: the east, the west, the side east and the side west.
