| | Saint Lamps [edit this] | | In the dark nights of Golden Summit, occasionally, you can see a point of fluorescence flowing between the valleys, then changing into several and step by step into numerous. This is the famous scenery saint lamp in Mountain Emei.
The saint lamps can be seen under four conditions: firstly, the weather must be fine right after the rain; secondly, there is no moon in the sky; thirdly, there are no clouds layers at the foot of the mountain; fourthly, there are no heavy wind and rain on top of the mountain. | Shanjue Temple [edit this] | | The Shanjue temple is a smaller temple back of the Nation-dedicating temple. It is characterized by 3 halls: Hall of Universal Benevolence god, Medicine Hall and the Great Hero Hall. The Hall of Universal-Benevolence-god is dedicated to the god of Universal Benevolence, who is mounting a white elephant. The Medicine Hall is dedicated to the golden Medicine Buddha with guardian deities of the monastery on both sides. | Nine Sages' Cave [edit this] | | The Nine sages' Cave, 1,500 meters long, belongs to Karst terrain. The cave with thousands of caves is called the King of Caves. Looking out of the cave, the triangular entrance resembles the shape of an old Taoist. Inside the cave, tourists can find plenty of stalactites, stele, stone flowers, stone screens and stalagmites in different shapes, and listen to the amazing clear water. Around the cave, vegetation and wild flowers grow everywhere with clouds and mists in the air. The cave is warm outside, but considerably cold inside. The Nine Sages' Cave used to a surfy subterranean river replaced to the cave you see today billions years ago due to the mountain 's evolving shape, further the erosion caused by the river creates the largest underground palace you are in. | Edit by: Dorothy | |
| Ninety-nine Turns [edit this] | | The Ninety-nine Turns are so narrow and twist that tourists here have to focus their attentions on going the way without any paying attention to the scenery. | Nation-dedicating Temple [edit this] | | The Nation-dedicating Temple is the first temple one meets along the mountain way and stresses love and patriotism. The first hall here is the Laughing Buddha Hall dedicated to the Laughing Buddha. Stepping out of the first hall, tourists can find the Great Hero Hall dedicated to Sakyamuni, sitting on a lotus flower. On both sides of the hall, there are 18 arhats. Following from the hall, is the Seven Buddhas Hall. The seven Buddhas, molded in gold and each 20 meters high, sit cross-legged on a blue-brick-base. The last hall in the temple is the Hall of Universal Benevolence God. The hall has two stories. The first story is dedicated to the god of Universal Benevolence, and the second floor contains the depository for Buddhist doctrines.
Besides the four main halls, there are several pavilions, platforms and guestrooms within the temple. The temple has the typical structure of Chinese ancient garden covers an area of more than 10 acres. Every yard of the temple is quite different from another by its unique and wonderful landscape with a nearby forest enhancing a sense of tranquillity.
