| | [edit this] | | Qiyuan Temple was first built during Jiajing period of the Ming dynasty. It is a palace-like building. Rooms overtapped each other, the palace, room and courts form a winding line which are ingeniously connected. Inside the palace it is filled with auspicious at mosphere. The biggest buddhist figure in Mountain Jiuhua, the massive Hengsanshi Buddha is worshipped here. Qiyuan Temple backs on Dongya Peak, faces the tiger-shape hill when the sun begins to rise, the area is immerced in the sweet smell of joss sticks and the pleascent sound of monks reading sutra. At one side of the temple is the three-level lotus pool, where carps jump and lotus flowers bloom as vigorous as bud. | Edit by: ch | |
