Yanko Dance

    Yanko Dance, also called “do the yangko dance”, is a kind of dance which is very popular in the north nations of China. It comes from the action of cutting, and then it becomed a dressing perform when people is free or Spring Festival is coming. Yanko Dance included two kinds of dance. The first kind is dancing with the legs were tied binded on two timber toes is called “step on stilt”. The second is called ground-jumping, it was performed on the ground.
    When Spring Festival is coming, hundreds of people were in line, (no matter your sex ,no matter your age) dressing their nice clothes, waving the color fans, dancing as much as they like on the street or square. At this time, the scene was so magnificence, and the atmosphere was so heat that many audience were attracted and can't help joining in their procession. It's very interesting. 
    Some Yanko Dance team is make up of the boatman who ferry on the land acted by nice girls, the old go-cart man acted by the springal; the big head child acted by the children, the Tangseng, ZhuBajie etc Archaian characters who acted by the old men, besides foregoing characters, there are the man who ride on donkey inversely, the man shoulder flower basket, and so on. All the character is life like, and very interesting.
    The folk dance of JiLin area is consist of Yanko Dance, dragon lantern, land boat, flap butterfly, two men wrestling, beating the flower stick, stilt and so on. All the dancing play together, so they were called by a joint name ——Yanko Dance.
