Emplacements

    The Emplacements seated outside the old city, were built in 1639, the 12th year of Emperor Chongzhen's reign in the Ming Dynasty. With the seven emplacements placed at the west of Haiguang Temple, Majiakou, north of the Sancha River, south of the Yaowa River, Xigu, east of Shaogong Village, and south of Shuangzhong respectively. It was once regarded as one of Tianjin's eight attractions in the Qing Dynasty, as well as one of the three treasures in Tianjin. At that time, soldiers stood sentry at every emplacement day and night to protect the city.
