The Lion Peak is 864 meters above sea level, and named after the exposed rocks on the peak top like a lion creeping in mountains. On the peak, there is a stone platform called Taixutai, which was constructed in 1938 to celebrate the 50th birthday of Master Taixu, the director of China Buddhist Society, the head of the Buddhist Doctrine Institute of Han and Zang Nationality. Climbing up to the top of the peak, one can feel such an artistic conception: the mountain is like a jasper and water like a black pigment; the cloud is in the sky and the moon on the pines. |
