The Main Hall

    The Main Hall is the only existing Buddhism hall of the Yun Yan Temple?and the present hall is only for displaying Buddhism in accordance with Hinayana. There are 53-steps from up to down. While travelers step down, they can always see the Bodhisattva sitting in the center of the hall no matter which step they are standing as long as them turn around. It is said that the boy Shang Cai once desired to become a Buddha, and knelt to kowtow to each master till the 52nd one, but all his efforts gained nothing. Later he was enlightened by Bodhisattva Wenshu and was taught by Bodhisattva Kwan-yin?his 53rd teacher and at last he reached the achievement to be a Buddha.
