Gaowu Astronomical Observatory

    Lying at southeast corner of Mountain Songshan, the Gaowu Astronomical Observatory, designed and established in 1279 by Guo Shoujing, a famous Chinese ancient astronomer, is one of the earliest of its kind and the center of the 27 astronomical observatories of the nation at that time.
