Mountain Jiugong Scenic Area

    Mountain Jiugong Scenic Area is located at Tongshan County, near Wuhan City.
    Most completely protected in vegetation and most abundant in rare animals and plants, it is a nature reserve at the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. With mountain massif chiefly composed of granites, Mountain Jiugong is characterized by towering fault scarps, dense peaks, luxuriant forests, and numerous rivulets and waterfalls. It is a famous religious mountain with both Buddhism and Taoism. With both oddity and beauty of peaks in Jiangnan Region and majesty of mountains in Saibei Area, it integrates the majesty, steepness, oddity, serenity, and beauty of the Five Famous Mountains in China, and is praised as “Celestial Mountain of the Ninth Heaven”.
