Tengwang Pavilion Scenic Area

    Tengwang Pavilion is located on the bank of the Ganjiang River at Yanjiang Road, Nanchang City.
    It was built by Prince Teng, Li Yuanying, a younger brother of Li Shimin who is the second Emperor of the Tang Dynasty, when he governed Hongzhou in 653, the fourth year of Yong Hui Period. So the name was called Tengwang Pavilion. It became permanently famous because of the Foreword to Tengwang Pavilion written by Wang Bo, a famous poet of the Tang Dynasty.
    Its main building is supported by big red poles and roofed with green tiles, with eaves overhanging. Its vertical plane resembles a towering Chinese character “山”, but its flat surface is like a huge bird spreading its wings ready to fly. When ascending the pavilion and overlooking, visitor will have a bird's eye view of the beautiful scenery which makes him relaxed and happy.
