Poyang Lake is the biggest fresh water lake in China, located in the north of Jiangxi Province, with a vast expanse of water and plentiful float grass.
It is abundant in rare fishes living at the Yangtze River area, and there are also countless rare birds inhabiting here every year, which make its scene more spectacular. Numerous birds fly in succession from Siberia to the lake to winter in October, golden autumn of every year. It is China's largest wintering habitat, and reputed as “the kingdom of migratory birds”.
Poyang Lake has become a paradise for precious birds including white cranes with its ecological environment undamaged and rare birds protected. |
