The serene form of the East Cliff

Dongyan Cliff situates on top of a cliff to the east of Zhongting and to the north of Huixiang Cabinet. There is a huge granite similar to a boat in old times, which is 10 meters high, 20 meters long and 10 meters wide anchoring on top of the North Cliff. Wang Yangming's handwriting “Heart of clouds”, “Boat in cloud” were graved on the rock. It is said it's where Jin Dizang used to practice meditation. Later on, Wang Yangming imitated him and sat there all day along, enjoying the mountain and listening to splash of springs, collecting the inspiration for his poem, sitting on the rock, therefore the legend has been handed down.
