Designed by a Britisher for Maharaja Ganga Singh, this palace dispalys a magnificient blend of oriental and european style. The imposing red sandstone monument is designed by Sir Swinton Jacob for Maharaja Ganga Singh.The Palace has beautiful latticework and filigree work , Sprawling lawns with blooming bougainvillea and dancing peacocks make it a not-to-be missed visual treat . Part of the Palace has been converted into a luxury hotel and a museum known as Shri Sadul Museum . The museum covers the entire first floor of the palace and houses well preserved old photographs and trophies of wildlife.
The small Ganga Golden Jubilee Museum (daily except Fri 10am-4.30pm; Rs3) on NH-8 not far from the Dhola Maru Hotel contains a moderately interesting display of costumes, weapons, ornaments, ancient statues and paintings, one of which depicts the signing of the Versailles Treaty by Ganga Singh.
