Hunting Procession (Tang Dynasty)

Hunting Procession (Tang Dynasty)

Unearthed in 1971 from the tomb of Prince Lixian, Qianxian County, Shaanxi Province. The original mural painting was cut into several pieces. Against to the background of hills and trees, more than 40 hunters appeared in the whole picture. Armed with bows and arrows, some of them carried flags, whips, hawks and dogs. Some weared round-collared robes and others weared Hun-styled dress with turndown collar. In the midst of so many attendents riding around there sat a man with a calm expression riding on a white horse, and probably the master of the tour.In the rear are two camels loaded with their necessities. This magnificent work is the masterpiece of the art in the Tang Dynasty.
