The Chinese Ethnic Culture Park is located at Minzuyuan Road, Chaoyang District. It is a large base of ethnic culture that combines the traditional architectures of the 56 nationalities in China, the ethnic folklore, song and dance performance, crafts and delicacies.
The construction of the Chinese Ethnic Culture Park was started in October 1992. The North Section was accomplished and opened to tourists on June 18, 1994. The South Section was opened in September 2001.
The total area of 50 hectare hosted the exhibits and villages of 56 nationalities. Over 40 villages, over 100 sceneries, 200 ethnic houses and 2 main exhibition halls have been constructed in the park. All the buildings adopt the proportion of 1:1 in scale, a true reappearance of the cultural heritages of each nationality. The park embraces the models of tropical forest, caves in the water, earthen wood, as well as Dragon Winding Waterfall, Magical Wood of Mountain Ali, and Cliff Paintings of Cangyuan, in addition to the largest iron statue in our country. Besides, the park also has large establishments like Ethnic Museum and Statues Square.
