Martyrs Cemetery of Gele Mountain is located at the foot of Gele Mountain, Shapingba District and was once the seat of the headquarters, transmitter-receiver and jail of the Bureau of Investigation and Statistics of the Military Council during the reign  of Kuomingtang Government.
    In the later period of World War II, the Sino-America Cooperative Institute of Special Techniques had been established here actually as an earthly abyss with 20-odd jails, big or small, like Residence of the Bais and Zhazi Cave, for locking up and cruelly killing the revolutionary patriots. For example, the communists Luo Shiwen and Jiang Zuyun(otherwise name Sister Jiang), and patriotic leaders Yang Hucheng and Huang Xiansheng were murdered in Zhazi Cave. Moreover, it was also the spot of the November 27 Massacre that shocked the country and the whole world.
