Zhiguan Stream is located at the periphery of the central area, and features as the concentrated peaks and forests, streams and lakes. Main activities include recreation, vacation spending, tourism and housing, and entertainment. Combining with the construction of the reservoir of Zhiguan Bridge, small-scale dispersed vacation facilities are constructed in the area to develop the recreation and tourism business.

It is a splendid scenic spot, which is famous for “the elegance of Sutra Collection Hall”. The Sutra Collection Hall is located among the flowers and green shadow covering with auspicious light. The richly ornamented building in the hall set off the green leaves and fresh flowers all around, making it extremely splendid and magnificent.

The elegance of Sutra Collection Hall, one of the “Four Best Sceneries of Southern Mountain”, is located at the foot of Xiangguang peak of southern mountain, which is an ancient building with glazed tile red wall and tilting quoin single eave, the temple is unique and rigorous, simple and elegant, it just like a beautiful pearl inlaying in the green jade flowing jungle. In 1980s, it is restored, in the palace, there are the highly skilled painted colorful drawings, and the added sculpts with vivid image. Thailand Chinese Mr. Huang Zhangren gentleman and his wife Mrs. Ouyang Hui presented a golden bronze image of Buddha in autumn of 1980, which is placed in the palace, the name of Buddha is “Biluzhena”, with pure copper gold-plating and the exquisite posture, it is dazzling and eye-catching, adding new luster for the cultural relics of Southern Mountain.

Around the Sutra Collection Hall, the earth is rich and the water is deep, and the temperature is not too low, which enable the easy growth of plant, there are such precious trees as Tilia endochrysea, elaeocarpus, cerberus tree, sweet oachestnut, the torreya grandis fort and so on, it comparably completely preserves the evergreen broad-leaf mixed primitive vegetation of the subtropics mountainous region. Among the trees, the ones that the visitors are most interested in are three wonderful trees namely the money tree, the same root tree and the interlocked branch tree which are near the river in front of the palace.
 
There are many historical site fables of the sutra collection hall; in front of the palace, there is the spirit field. Whenever the autumn night falls, the flying light just likes the candle, the profiles of the old forest and the ancient palace are visible, which are doubtfully to be regarded as the “miraculous light of Lu Palace”, in fact it is caused by the dance of the gathering fireflies with sparkling gleam, people calls it as the “pilgrimage of the fireflies”. In front of the spirit field, there is the dressing table, according to the legend; it is the place for the mother of Minggui emperor concubine dowager Chen to make up. In the surrounding area, there is the fishing platform, on the basis of fable, it is the fishing place of the concubine Zhang Lihua of the later king of six dynasties.

The scenic spots include: Sutra Collection Hall, Waiai Woods, Dressing Table, Yunchun Kiosk, Beauty Pool, Fishing Terrace, Shuiyue Nunnery, Dragon Pool, etc. The characteristic here is the rare and unique plants. If you come here in the early spring, maybe you meet the “frog party” in the Dragon Pool.

In front of the Water Curtain Cave, there is the Zigai Stream, which is 8 li away from the Yu Stream. Many scenic spots such as Zigai Peak, Yunmi Peak, Yinzhen Lawn, and Yunfeng Temple are also in this scenic area, waiting for your visiting. Below the Cave, there is the Toulong Pool, which is the place Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty threw the golden bamboo document and begged for the forever life.

one of the “Four Best Sceneries of Southern Mountain” is the miracle of Water Curtain Cave, located in Water Curtain village, Southern Mountain countryside below the Zigaifeng, is 4 kilometers from Southern Mountain Town.

The source of Water Curtain Cave waterfall lies in fountain of Zigaifeng. There are three fountains converged together flowing into the valley with width by three zhang on Water Curtain Cave, this valley formerly is the habitant for the daylight-flying of the nine real persons of Liang Dynasty, and later nine-fairy guan was established with the Sun fountain, Xixin Fountian, Dong zhenyuan, Fairy Pond and so on in the vicinity. It is said that this fountain abysmal, the water is rushing down form the stone wall with the thundering-like voice, spreading out to ten-mile place. With the jade green pond below the Water Curtain Cliff, the clouds in the sky and emerald green mountain chain, we can see a beautiful landscape painting.

There are many poets and famous writers in the Tang, Song, Ming, Qing Dynasties inscribed and indited poems for this landscape. Such as the stone inscription of “Zhuling Cave Sky of Southern Mountain” in Song Dynasty, “The First Fountain Around The World” in Ming Dynasty, “Snow in Summer and thunder in sunny day” and “Watching The Waterfall by drunk-laying” in Qing Dynasty. In addition, the “Flying Qiong and Spattering Snow”, “the Ancient and Today is Hanging on the Curtain”, etc. are well-known. Water Curtain Cave is the place for the movement of Taoism in Tang Dynasty. They called it cave sky and blessing place, viz. “Zhuling Cave Sky”. Therefore, “the Miracle of Water Curtain Cave” now is one of the best sceneries of Southern Mountain.

Five Mountains Stream is located in the back area of Southern Mountain, and begins in the east from Back Five Mountains Hall and Guanyin Rock, and ends in the west to Huokeng and Xiangzhen Peak, north to Old Dragon Pool and south to Xiangguang Peak. The major scenic features are the steep hillsides, dangerous roads, twisted streams and luxuriant trees, while the major fun of sightseeing may be found during the mountain climbing and ecological tourism. Stone footpaths are explored felicitously, and natural landscapes of peaks, hills, streams, brooks, pools and waterfalls are perfectly highlighted, thus bringing the tourists fully into the ecologic pleasure of mountain and water, and displaying the landscape feature of the “Unique Beauty of Five Mountains”.

Sleeping Dragon Pool is located at the southwest side of the Scenic Area and is jointly constituted by Kuangjia Stream, Fuchang Temple, Leibo Hill and the mountains around. The major scenic features are the wonderful peaks and cliffs, brooks and waterfalls, mountains and forests, farms and cottages; while the major fun of sightseeing may be found in the adventure in mountains and plains on foot, thus contributing the landscape feature of “Ten-li Stream & Ten-Li Fragrance”.
