| Mausoleum of Shun Emperor [edit this] | | Mausoleum of Shun Emperor, who is our Chinese primogenitor and culture's creator, is located in Mountain Jiuyi in Ningyuan County, Yongzhou City.
According to the Biography of the Five Emperors in Historical Records, “when Shun made his rounds in the south, he passed away in the wild of Xiangwu and was buried in Jiuyi in the south.” The great leader Mao Zedong once wrote a poem like this, “White clouds flied above Jiuyi Mountain,great Emperor rested in peace on green hill”. Grand memorial ceremonies for Shun Emperor in memory of his great achievements and cohesiveness of the Chinese nation were held form Qin Dynasty to Qing Dynasty. Archeologists have found the relics of Mausoleum of Shun Emperor of Qin and Han Dynasty recently. They occupy an area of almost 50,000 square meters. Mausoleum of Shun Emperor is the famous scenic spot of Mountain Jiuyi National Forest Park.
