China Science & Technology Museum is located to the northwest of Anhuaqiao, Sanhuan Road(North), Beijing.
The institute was built in 1988 as the first state-level comprehensive institute of science and technology in China. Its coverage is 7.1 hectares, while its total construction acreage is 66,000 square meters. Among which, the construction acreage of the hall area exceeds 53,000 square meters.
The main parts of the institute are the Exhibition Hall of Traditional Technologies, Exhibition Hall of Modern Technologies and the Cinema, and has nearly 700 displaying items. The Exhibition Hall of Traditional Technologies displays ancient items, such as missiles, warships, armillary sphere and abridged armilla of astronomy, and refined water mill, water wheel and compass. The Exhibition Hall of Modern Technologies shows the basic principles and technological achievements of the sciences like electromagnetism, mechanics, mechanism, acoustics and optics, information, nuclear technology, etc. The Cinema is used to screen the scientific popularization films.
