Handan City is situated in the south of Hebei Province, with a history of more than 3,000 years.
Handan once belonged to Wei Kingdom, and then to Jin Kingdom during the Spring and Autumn Period. It was the capital of Zhao Kingdom during the Warring States Period.
Leaning against Mountain Taihang in the west, and adjoining the North China Plain in the east, Handan has convenient transportation and opulent produces. Because it was a place of strategic importance, armies scrambled for it in ancient times.
There are plentiful tourism resources (including numerous cultural relics and historic sites), such as famous Wuling Congtai, Huangliangmeng Luxian Shrine, Site of King Zhao's City, Walk-imitating Bridge, and Huiche Lane. Spring and Autumn are the best seasons for tour in Handan.
