Make stubs and dead roots at Thousand-Island Lake to “a ware” with colorful and various shapes. The carved roots have quite a long history at Thousand-Island Lake. By the way of sculpture, the carved woods are divided into round sculpture, embossment, line engraving and openwork carving.

Grown at knaps and mountainous region, it has a name as “the king of fruit”, It contains rich sugar, vitamins, organic acids and so on, and has several medical functions including preventing cancers. In autumn, in the sea when Chinese gooseberries mature, there are lots of Chinese gooseberries from the mountains are sold at the streets.

There are many bamboos grown at Thousand-Island Lake. Chun'an Dried Bamboo Shoots include two types of “flat sharp” and “straight sharp”. The most famous dried bamboo shoots are from Tianping Village of Yaoshan County at Thousand-Island Lake. At Thousand-Island Lake, the dried bamboo shoots are made specially. After being cooked with salt, they are baked by small fire by black charcoal. When they are dried in half, they are kneaded by hand. Afterwards, they are dried by sun. They have the character of long storage without molding. They can be used for braising pork. They are soft and delicious.

Because there are many mountainous regions in Chun'an and because of influence of soil, there are lots of brackens. Besides of cooking fresh brackens, many farmers' families dry them and use them to braise ham and make thick rice soup. Bracken is a green food and has a function of preventing and treating cancers.

At countryside, those carefully carved gourds, integrated together three kinds of art of design, sculpture and painting, have contained new and unique nice design and changeful carving skill.
