The construction of the Xumifushouzhimiao (Temple of the Potarake Doctrme) started in 1767, the 32nd year of Qianlong's reign and was not completed until 1771.

In 1774, the 39th year of Qianlong's reign, the Shuxiangsi (Temple of the Statue of Manjusri) was completed.

To celebrate the 70th birthday of Qianlong in the summer of 1780, the sixth Panchen Lama, a political and religious leader of Tibet, asked for coming to express his good wishes.

Built in 1713, the 52nd year of kangxi's reign, the Purensi (Temple of Universal Benevolence) was the earliest among the Eight Outer Temples.
