Hengshui Lake is 10 kilometers south of Hengshui City. With an area of 75 square kilometers, it is the second largest fresh water lake in the North China Plain. There are over 150 species of birds in this area, among which there are several rare species under the protection of either the state or the province like the red-crowned crane, swan, gray crane, pelican, and wild goose. The lake has been authorized as the wetland and the natural reserve of birds by the Government of Hebei Province.
The lake enjoys gentle ripples, clean water and blue sky. On its Wintersweet Islet, you can appreciate the natural beauty of green trees and fresh air; you can even see the flying birds, ride horses, go fishing and boating.
