Known as Mountain Bi in the past, Baodu Stockaded Village is now also called Mountain Baodu. Situated in Luquan City 17 kilometers from Shijiazhuang City, it is a famous, ancient village, in which you can find historical sites and natural scenery.
Only a path both from the south and north slopes of the mountain leads to the village. Leaning against the imposing mountain, the village once was the ancient battlefield where Hanxin, a famous general in the Han Dynasty, carried out the strategy of fighting to win or die. “Baoduqinglan” is one of “Huolu Eight Views” and a poet once wrote a poem to extol its beauty. At present, you can see the biggest gate at the top of the mountain-South Sky Gate, the first Arhat hall holding 500 arhat monks sculptured with stone under the surface of the top, the largest Hanxin Memorial Temple adorned with golden paint and murals in China, and the bulwark of the Great Wall.
